The Girl Behind the Blog: Baby, Where'd You Get Your Body From?!

This might quite possibly be the post where I commit blog-suicide.  I debated last night about whether or not I should post this - until the point I got an upset stomach.  Yikes - this blogging stuff can be stressful sometimes.

I am going to bite the bullet and hope for the best.  Today I am going to participate in the "girl behind the blog" link up.  {I might delete this post before the end of the day}

First of all I showed this to Steve and he told me that anyone who knows me is going to cringe - so If you are a real life friend - I apologize in advance.  Please still want to hang with me.  I will buy you a beer to make up for the three minutes of lost time.

The topic was beauty products.  This is my take on how to get E-Ho pretty.

Peace?! I have never once signed off with peace. This just proves that I am completely unnatural and awkward in front of the camera. Also - I struggle with my web cam. I was getting a ton of feedback noise. So I used my iPhone. I should have flipped the screen. Whatevs.

Oh and in case I didn't embarrass myself enough - check this out and then immediately hit the 'unfollow blog' button.

That's that.  Super dork and super Canadian.  Now I'd love to see you vlog.  If I am willing to do this - you should be too.  Let's reevaluate after today when my stats plummet.

Go here to see some better vlogs from bloggers who can handle this vlog stuff.

  1. Lol I love both of these and if I could somehow save them to my computer for future reference, I would. That's how much I love them. I didn't cringe though ;) You're cute, as is your beefcake cat.

  2. Yesssssssssss. So glad you posted this.
I love your Canadian accent. Awesome.
And your beauty tips? SPOT ON girlfriend.
I just discovered dry shampoo and it's changing my life.

  3. I love your advice to just drink beer. Check and check. Also, I can't get over how cute Basil is. I'm not certain my cat would forgive me if I put a bowtie on him. He's also too high-strung to ever just sit there and let me show him off on a vlog. Your Basil is pretty cool for these reasons and more.

  4. Haha! Stopping by from the link up! You and your cat are the best, so funny. And, I also had my bags with sunnies and glasses almost daily.

  7. 1. I didn't cringe not even once, you are adorable and I love you even more.

    2. I cannot get over how you say "Bah-zul" instead of "Bay-zul" This whole time I was saying your child's name differently in my head.

    3. The white hair on his chest coupled with the bow-tie make him look like he's wearing a tux. I love him.

  10. Yay Emily!! Love, love, loved see you in 3-D! You are totally hilarious.. in a good way :) Sunglasses are totally my beauty product as well.. helps that I live in the land of eternal sunshine though. And totally agree you have to have the right pair that don't touch your face so you don't end up with sweat marks!

p.s. I always read Basil's name as "bay-sul" and totally cracked up that you say it "Baah-zil" like Hugh Grant would.

  19. Why don't my cats have bow ties? I am such a lazy pet mama. And I totally wear my glasses on days that I want to hide the bags under my eyes.

  20. It's like you knew Basil would be the way to my heart! Cat lady over here! As if the first vlog wasn't enough, the second just sealed the deal for me. I don't know what "the deal" is, but I promise it's a compliment.

    You are awesome.

    That is all.

Oh, yeah. I need to swap with you for June, because I want your blogger goodness all up in my blog. (Again, that is supposed to be a compliment. And not vulgar. Promise.)

  21. I loved this! You cracked me up in both! I'm a "low-maintenance" kind of girl, too. I wear my sunglasses all the time, but sometimes I'll use them just as a headband. Truth. Also- I'm a sweater. Not a winter top, but prone to perspiration. It's true, I came to terms with it years ago, and, well, whatever. Just wanted to have a bonding moment, one sweater to another! Can't wait for your next blog- PEACE!

  24. OK, your beauty vlog is hands down my most favorite blog ever. Licorice is what I've been missing all these years.

Also, my cat was checkin' Basil out.

    that is so me.

then, you totally sealed my fate as your newest follower while watching the second video (aka basil's debut). who seriously just holds up their cat to show it's dimensions?

  31. HILARIOUS!!!! Seriously - I just watched these at work and someone had to come check on me because I was laughing so hard. "I don't really have time to put cucumbers on my eyes, soooo....I wear glasses." BEST.BEAUTY.TIP.EVER.

  32. Ummmm you are AWESOME. I get it now. Not to say I didn't think you were before. I just wasn't paying close enough attention. I'm sorry--so many bloggers left to right and it's hard to stalk so many all at once. But I definitely did some stalking tonight HERE. On your blog. (hence my comment on a blog post from several days ago). And you are cool. Not only because you're funny, but because you're Canadian. Because that probably means you know who Drake really is... (Jimmy) and you may either love me or hate me for the reference, but I can't help not to express my undying Degrassi love to any and all Canadians when I encounter them. And on the off chance that you have no idea what I'm talking about and wondering when this comment is going to end, I still think you're super duper cool. And I hope that we can hang out on Twitter again soon or exchange buttons sometime. Ha! Cheers. PS spray on shampoo? I need some of that stat.

  33. OH MY GOSH! Emily, you are the best! I loved watching this and did not find it cringe worthy at all! You are so cute, and I totally agree with Kristen - "I just fell deeper in blog love with you"!!! You are hilarious, and I love your beauty tips - the beer was perfect :) I love your Canadian accent and the way that you say "about." Thanks for sharing this, and don't you dare delete it!
